Principal's Message

Dear Jordan Jaguar Community,

Welcome to what promises to be an extraordinary school year! As your new principal, I am deeply honored and excited to join the Jaguar family. Middle school is a uniquely dynamic chapter in a young person’s life—a time marked by rapid growth, fresh discoveries, and the occasional sudden growth spurt, not to mention all the hormone surges. It is a true privilege to walk alongside our students, staff, and families during these pivotal, transformative years.

Our district goals center on giving every student the foundation they need to thrive in high school, post-secondary education, and a fulfilling life beyond our schools. To achieve this, our work at Jordan Intermediate focuses on three core goals:

• Goal 1 - Academic Skills:  As we strive to build our students academic content and academic English skills, we cultivate sharp critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and a genuine passion for learning. Our classrooms are engaging spaces where students are encouraged to ask deep questions, tackle challenging concepts, and view mistakes simply as stepping stones to mastery, as students build scholarly habits that will serve them well in school and beyond.
• Goal 2 - Personal Skills: Middle school is where young people discover who they are and who they want to become. We seek to develop a climate and culture at Jordan that focuses on motivating all learners to achieve their goals. We focus heavily on essential personal skills—building resilience, practicing empathy, and developing self-advocacy to help students learn socio-emotional skills that lead to long-term well-being. Learning how to navigate new social dynamics, collaborate respectfully, and manage responsibilities are key steps in growing into confident, thoughtful individuals.
• Goal 3 - Lifelong Success: True education extends far beyond any single test or assignment. We are dedicated to instilling habits of mind—adaptability, strong work ethic, and digital literacy—that empower our students to navigate an ever-changing world with confidence and purpose. We seek to cultivate college and career awareness, readiness, and success in all our students so they are poised to make informed decisions about their futures.

At Jordan Intermediate School, we are committed to the three pillars of excellence that our school has identified: Respect, Responsibility, and Kindness. However, we recognize that we cannot do this work alone. Great schools are built on strong partnerships. We invite our parents, families, and community to partner with us for the betterment of our students. Education is a collaborative journey between dedicated educators, supportive families, and an engaged community.
